Ladybird Grove and Mess Hall
The UVA Club of Atlanta is a volunteer led group dedicated to engaging alumni, parents and friends of the University.
The club plans a variety of programming throughout the year including:
- Volunteer opportunities
- Networking events
- Game watching parties
- Educational outings
- New student outreach
Our signature events include the Spring Cocktail Party and the Bull Roast – a tradition for over 40 years. Whether or not you are an Atlanta native, we hope you will call this city your home and connect with the very large UVA alumni base in Atlanta!
The UVA Club of Atlanta no longer has “members” that pay membership dues. Instead, everyone is a member and the Club’s events will be open to all.
For those events for which the Club charges a fee to attend or participate, it will be a single price, rather than one price for non-members and a discounted price for members. Instead of paying a membership fee, the Club will instead be seeking donations from its supporters. This change-over will have one major change – the previous “membership fees” will be replaced by (hopefully) your donations, which will be fully tax-deductible.
Please make sure the check is made payable to UVA Club of Atlanta (add FUAC100 to memo line).

Calling all Parents – Formation of the Atlanta UVA Parent Network
The UVA Club of Atlanta has an amazing parent network to help connect alumni with little Hoos for playdates, babysitting shares, family events and more. If you are interested in getting involved please contact Mary Lorraine Stewart for more information.
Jefferson Book Awards
This year the UVA Club of Atlanta was pleased to award the Jefferson Book Award (JBA) to three outstanding Atlanta area high school students from the following schools: Riverwood International Charter School in Atlanta, Salem High in Conyers, and Stratford Academy in Macon. The JBA is given to rising seniors who embody Jeffersonian ideals. It is also terrific way to raise interest in the University to potential out of state students. If you are interested in sponsoring a JBA for the next year, please contact Nick Menefee.
Want to Help With the Club?
With increasing membership and a more diverse set of events, the need for volunteers continues to grow. If you are interested in giving back to the University by sharing some of your time with the club, we are always looking for additional help. Any of our committees could use your input but especially our communications and social committees. Please contact Nellie Brewer or Kelly Pierce if you are interested in getting more involved with the UVA Club of Atlanta.
