Dr. Mitch Rosner, the Henry Mulholland Professor of Medicine and chair of the University of Virginia Department of Medicine, joined On-Air with UVA to discuss “COVID: UVA’s Preparation, Creativity, and Challenges.”
Dr. Rosner highlighted how the University of Virginia opened Grounds in the midst of a pandemic and the serious challenges this posed for UVA leadership. Dr. Rosner, the UVA COVID-19 Response Chief Medical Adviser, discusses these challenges and how a committed group of University leaders worked together to develop a program that would keep students and the community as safe as possible while at the same time ensuring that UVA continued to provide an outstanding educational experience.
Dr. Rosner is board-certified in both internal medicine and nephrology. He has published more than 200 research articles and has received numerous teaching awards. The American Society of Nephrology awarded him the Robert Narins lifetime achievement award in 2019 to recognize his contributions to education and clinical care.
