Brian Hogg
Senior Historic Preservation Planner
Brian Hogg has primary responsibilities for the development of guidelines for the restoration and upkeep of the Academical Village and all of the historic facilities, as well as oversight of all capital projects associated with adaptive reuse of historic buildings. He has a BA in Art History and French from the University of Virginia and an MS in Historic Preservation from Columbia University. He was a member of the regulatory staff of the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission for 17 years, most recently as Director of Preservation. At the LPC, he was responsible for a wide range of projects, including restorations of the New Amsterdam Theatre and the Towers Nursing Home, the conversion of banking halls into catering facilities, and for new construction or building additions designed by Aldo Rossi, Polshek Partnership, Norman Foster, Renzo Piano, and Jean Nouvel. His experience with restoration, adaptive reuse and new construction in historic contexts is an asset to the University as it continues to grow.
