2010 Cavaliers Care Fall Project

 The UVaClub of Atlanta Fall Project with Atlanta Habitat was a great success! U.Va. Alumni put in 8 hours of labor-intensive work, while leaning new skills and making new friends. We were responsible for building and insulating the sub flooring, building, insulating, and installing the interior and exterior walls, as well as building the porch of the house. It was very rewarding to start the day with a level site and end the day with a house. Thanks to all our volunteers for their hard work! View the slideshow.

 Thanks to everyone who came out to support the Atlanta Community Food Bank. The Atlanta Community Food Bank currently distributes nearly two million pounds of food and other donated grocery items each month in Metro Atlanta and North Georgia. Participants met other alumni and friends while sorting, inspecting and packaging food at the Product Rescue Center (PRC). View the slideshow.

 Thanks to everyone who came out on Saturday to support Trees Atlanta. Trees Atlanta has been a prime force in addressing Atlanta's tree loss, creating increased green space, and conserving the city's trees. UVaClub members helped to keep Atlanta beautiful with a morning of mulching, pruning trees, and helping with overall park cleanup. View the slideshow.

 Thanks to everyone who came out for our April Networking engagement with best-selling author, Coy Barefoot. Coy provided a unique glimpse into the history of the University, exploring the past and present of the University of Virginia and our beloved social, cultural and commercial hub, the Corner. The Club enjoyed seeing rare archival photos of the University and Coy also answered the question of why we call it the Corner and how the White Spot got its name. View the slideshow.
2010 Cavaliers Care 'Hoos for Bike MS Atlanta

 Thanks to everyone who joined us for a morning of fun and encouragement with Bike MS. Bike MS is a 2-day cycling event that raises funds to support people living with multiple sclerosis. The UVaClub of Atlanta hosted a station during the race to cheer for bikers, pass out drinks and food, as well as with the setup and breakdown the station. View the slideshow.

 Co-chaired by U.Va. Alumni Erin Levin, Pamoja Penda was an arts and music festival in Piedmont Park to help celebrate the grassroots development work being done across Africa. 100% of the proceeds from the event benefited Ugandan American Partnership Organization's work in rebuilding war-torn Northern Uganda. Alumni and friends helped with stage set-up, merchandise tables, the soccer tournament and other festival fun. View the slideshow.
2009 Bull Roast

Over 225 guests attended the UVaClub of Atlanta's 37th Annual Bull Roast on Saturday, October 24 outdoors at the Buckhead Barn, making this year’s event a great success. Everyone enjoyed some good BBQ, their favorite beverages, and the smooth hits of the 70's and 80's performed by Yacht Rock Revue. Those guests who were not dancing to the band were able to stay warm and catch up with friends and alumni around the bonfires. Thank you to all of our sponsors and volunteers who made this event a success. We look forward to continuing the outdoor tradition of the Bull Roast next year at the Buckhead Barn for the event’s 38th edition!
'Hoos New Happy Hour Recap
 Drinks weren't the only thing being poured at September's 'Hoos New Happy Hour. Despite record rainfall, alumni braved the storms to welcome new 'Hoos to the city over food and drinks at Neighbor's Pub in the Virginia Highlands. Thanks to everyone who showed up to prove that Atlanta 'Hoos know how to work hard and play hard come rain or shine. Check the website for details about upcoming young alumni events!

2009 Spring Cocktail Dinner

The renewed Spring Cocktail Party was held on Thursday, May 7 at the home of Everette and Mary Doffermyre. This annual event had been dormant for many years but was revived with the help of over 225 alumni, spouses and friends. As well as an excuse to socialize and see friends old and new, the event capped off a successful month of Cavaliers Care events.

Thank you so much for your support this April to make our UVaClub of Atlanta Cavaliers Care month a huge success! We appreciate all of your time, thoughts and sweat to make our city a better place.
