Membership

The Virginia Club of New York is a non-profit, volunteer organization that works to create and maintain a strong connection between the University and its students, alumni, and their families.  There are over 13,000 U.Va. graduates in the tri-state area, and the Club welcomes them all! Chapter Membership

The Virginia Club of New York offers a social membership, which is called chapter membership, for those alumni interested in maintaining ties with New York City Wahoos and the University itself.  We offer three chapter membership options; chapter membership is tax-deductible and valid for a full twelve months.

• Discounted prices for almost all ticketed events. Average savings is $10-$15 per event. Members save $20 at our annual Mr. Jefferson's Holiday Party.
• Access to Members Only events, including the annual US Open, Yankees/Mets outings, summer softball games in Central Park, and monthly Networking Breakfasts.
• Free drinks! For many of our events, members enjoy complimentary drink tickets.
• Priority registration for our most popular events.

A chapter member's savings can total over $150 in one year!  It's well worth the dues!

Clubhouse Membership

Since 1995, a unique alliance between the Virginia Club of New York and the Yale Club of New York City has given U.Va. alumni access to membership in the Yale Club of New York City.  Located at the corner of 44th Street and Vanderbilt Avenue, in the heart of Manhattan, the clubhouse features 138 affordably-priced hotel rooms, three restaurants, a full bar, library, and gym, sauna and pool.  Clubhouse membership allows U.Va. alumni to utilize the Yale Club facilities and attend clubhouse events in addition to enjoying the benefits offered by chapter membership.

Virginia Club clubhouse members also enjoy the Yale Club's network of carefully selected Reciprocal Clubs which includes the most popular destinations in 15 major countries and 20 states.  From historic clubs in Boston, Chicago, and London to athletic clubs in Los Angeles and Seattle to country clubs in the Tri-State area and beyond, clubhouse membership connects U.Va. alumni to exclusive clubs and services when traveling for business or pleasure.
   
Heading out of town and want to make use of our reciprocal club arrangement?  Letters of Introduction are required at least one week in advance.  To request a letter, please email us with your name, clubhouse account number, and desired dates of the visit.  Please note: your arrangements should be made with the host club prior to requesting a LOI.

Clubhouse membership is available to all Virginia degree holders, faculty, and graduate students.  Please download our membership information packet for a full outline of the dues and benefits of clubhouse membership.  Should you decide to join as a clubhouse member, submit your application by e-mail, fax, or standard mail; we ask that you allow one week for processing.

Parents, children, and grandchildren of current Virginia Club clubhouse members are also eligible to join the Yale Club of New York City with special Parent and Legacy memberships.  Quarterly dues are based on year of graduation from undergrad and residency.
