U.Va. Named University Partner of the U.S. Pavilion at World Expo in South Korea

The University of Virginia has been selected as the university partner of the USA Pavilion 2012 at next spring's World Expo in Yeosu, South Korea, a relationship organizers say will provide students a "once-in-a-lifetime" experience. U.Va. will administer the Student Ambassadors program, selecting 40 undergraduate and graduate students from American colleges and universities to serve as the pavilion's hosts during the Expo, which is themed "The Living Ocean and Coast." Candidates must be U.S. citizens and proficient in Korean. Applications from students across the U.S. are being accepted online through Feb. 10. The UVaClub of Korea was extremely honored to invite alumni and parents to a buffet style dinner a tKate's Kitchen sponsored by the U.Va. College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences and the U.Va. Office of Engagement with remarks by Meredith Jung-en Woo, Buckner W. Clay Dean of Arts & Sciences. Alumni, parents and friends heard updates from Grounds and enjoyed a wonderful meal. 2010 Reception with Darden Professor

On October 27 we had a dinner reception with a renowned professor from U.Va.'s Darden Graduate School of Business, Francis Warnock who spoke about his views on various currencies and the economy. It was also an opportunity for the U.Va. undergraduate alumni to meet and network with the Darden Graduate School of Business alumni. Many business cards were exchanged while enjoying a great 6 course meal with the nearly 30 people that attended. View the slideshow.

2009 Holiday Party

On December 19, 2009 we celebrated the festive season with fellow U.Va. alumni, students and friends at Pier Avenue. We reserved the elegant fusion-Japanese restaurant where we were greeted by an excellent choice of food and drinks, never-ending entertainment throughout the night and an auction with various items from the U.Va.
