Reception with Stephen Railton

 Thank you to all those who attended the reception with Stephen Railton, Professor of English at the University of Virginia. Professor Railton guided us through the highlights of the recently launched online archive of Faulkner's class sessions as U.Va's first Writer-in-Residence: Faulkner at Virginia.

Virginia Football vs Clemson Tailgate
Saturday November 21, 2009
 On Saturday, November 21, approximately 80 U.Va. alumni and friends, hailing from UVaClubs across Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina, converged on Clemson, SC for a beautiful day of tailgating and fellowship in true Virginia style before watching the Cavaliers put up a solid fight against the Clemson Tigers. Friends and alumni of the University brought home-made BBQ and beans, boiled peanuts, ham delights, cookies and other treats that were delicious and enjoyed by all. Many thanks to all the generous volunteers who helped cook the food and organize both the tailgate and the buses for loyal Cavalier fans! 2009 Lowcountry Oyster Roast

The 2009 Oyster Roast was a big success! More than 25 people attended the outstanding event at Vince Graham's architectural masterpiece on Sullivan's Island. It was an afternoon and evening filled with great conversations, remarkably delicious oysters and no shortage of tasty beverages. Thanks to the U.Va. football team for winning at Maryland while we all cheered enthusiastically. Looking forward to next year's oyster roast already!

The UVaClub of the Lowcountry welcomed Maurie McInnis, Assistant Professor of American Art and Material Culture at the University of Virginia, to the Gibbes Museum to celebrate the opening of the exhibition.
President Casteen Luncheon
