Instructions for booking a hotel room at the Red Roof Inn

1. Visit  www.redroof.com and select the “Reservations” link at the top of the page.

2. Enter Charlottesville VA in the search field, and August 19 and 20 as your arrival and departure dates.

3. When the site returns search results, click on the red “Check Rates” button.

4. On the next page, select “Show Available Rooms and Rates.”

5. You will see options for smoking and non-smoking rooms with two double-beds one king bed. Make your selection. If you plan to share a room, select double-beds. Do not select the Business room. You will see that the cost of the room is higher than what I quoted above.

6. You will then click “Proceed with Reservation” and enter your credit card information. You will not be charged at this time. This simply holds the room.

7. Once you complete the reservation, e-mail me at uvaexpress@virginia.edu. I will contact the Red Roof Inn and inform them that you are in our block of rooms. At the time of check-out, you will be charged the discounted amounts.

If a travel companion is staying longer at the Red Roof Inn, please make a separate reservation for the time they are staying past August 20.

Students who are traveling with family members or non-student friends

Non-students are not permitted to spend the night in dormitories. Your traveling companion(s) must make a reservation at a Charlottesville hotel. In addition to the Red Roof Inn, we recommend the following hotels, all of which have online booking:

We will not book a hotel room for you. UVaExpress shuttles will not bring you to these hotels. However, maps and taxicab phone numbers will be provided to you upon your arrival.
