2008 Konica Minolta Gator Bowl
University of Virginia football fans from around the country traveled to Jacksonville, Fla., for the 2008 Konica Minolta Gator Bowl. Despite a heartbreaking loss in the final few moments of the game, the trip to Jacksonville was an exciting and memorable experience for all attending U.Va. fans. On December 31, the Jacksonville Landing became a Sea of Orange as hundreds of U.Va. fans of all ages gathered for the Pep Rally and subsequent Winn-Dixie Hometown Gator Bowl Parade. That evening, over 500 fans attended the Wahoo Welcome Party, and, together, rang in the New Year to “The Good Ole Song” at The Twisted Martini. The fun continued the following morning at the Cavalier Countdown Tailgate, where over 1,200 alumni and fans enjoyed the opportunity to share in the pre-game excitement, which included a visit from U.Va. Athletics Director Craig Littlepage, our cheerleaders, marching band, and even Cav Man.
