Information on Academics

The University of Virginia has six undergraduate schools.  Applicants seeking admission to the first-year class will apply to one of four schools: the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Engineering and Applied Science, the School of Architecture, or the School of Nursing.  First-year applicants interested in teacher education or business will apply to the College of Arts and Sciences and transfer to the School of Education or the School of Commerce after two years of study.

The School of Nursing offers the Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

The McIntire School of Commerce awards Bachelor of Science in Commerce degrees with concentrations in:

The School of Education
offers five-year degree programs in which the student may earn both a Bachelor and Master's degree:

The four-year bachelor's degree program is available for students wishing to pursue programs in Kinesiology (Sports Medicine, Exercise Physiology, and Adapted Physical Education) and Communication Disorders.
