Are you interested in volunteering with the U.Va Club of Richmond?

If you are a U.Va. alumni, parent or friend living in the Richmond area and want to be an club volunteer, we would love your help!  With over 16,000 alumni and parents in the Richmond area we are always looking for volunteers to serve on one of our 19 committees.  Committees include:

• Holiday Event Committee
• Spring Social Committee
• Cavs Care (Service Opportunitities)
• Hookies vs. Hoos (our annual Central Virginia Food Bank "Food Fight" versus the VT Hookies)
• Martin Luther King Middle School Partnership Commmittee
• Schools Committee (help spread the word about U.Va to local high schools)
• Evening Programs Committee
• Monthly Luncheon Committee
• Young Alumni Programs Committee
• IT Committee
• Networking Events Committee
• Sports Committee (assist or Captain a sports team)
• Walter Ridley Scholarship Committee

Each year the Club hosts two open/social Board Meetings where all alumni, parents and friends of U.Va. are invited to attend to learn more about the UVaClub of Richmond Board and volunteer opportunities.  The first meeting is held in October and is a great opportunity to see a Board meeting in action and to learn of the various committees and the events that they host.  The second meeting will be held on March 9th at the Westwood Club and is a great opportunity to learn about open Board positions and Committee Chair positions for the upcoming year. 

If you are potentially interested in a Board position (includes our officers President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and all Committee Chairs), please review the PDF link which includes Job Descriptions for each of the positions.

Applications to apply for a Board Position or Committee Chair has been posted at the above link and will be due the end of March to the Nominating Chair.  After review of all applications, phone interviews will take place and all candidates will be notified by the end of April.  All selected candidates will be invited to the May and June Board Meetings.  If you have any questions about Board positions or Committee Chair positions please contact Kari at kteagno@boscobel-llc.com.  Additional information will be posted at the beginning of March so please check back and look in the Spring monthly e-blasts for additional communication.
