OFFICERS
President
David Chen (DAR '06)
- Provides overall leadership and direction to the club
- Serves as an ambassador for the club and the University of Virginia
- Serves as the main contact for interested constituents
- Convenes, sets agenda, and presides over all Board and general meetings
- Maintains regular contact with Regional Engagement Officer, ensures reports are filed with UVaClubs program, and completes annual report every July
- Assists with supporting, orienting, and training new president and other Board members, and transferring appropriate records
- Appoints committee chairpersons if they are not elected
Vice President
Open
- Presides at meetings if president is unable to attend
- Shadows president to learn all aspects of leadership position, as it is recommended that the VP become the president upon conclusion of his or her predecessors terms
- Serves as a contact for interested individuals in the local area
- Coordinates membership by maintaining the membership roster, recruiting diverse membership, and implementing renewal and membership drives
- Heads a specific committee and/or assumes responsibility for specific projects
Treasurer
Hayden Lee (CLAS '04)
- Maintains club bank account for financial transactions, either at a local financial institution or the U.Va. Fund
- Accepts all payments and makes all disbursements for club business
- Collects and records the receipt of annual dues
- Develops systems to receive and process receipts from admission at club functions
- Coordinates with other officers and committee chairs on event and budget planning
- Prepares and submits financial statements for the Board on a regular basis
- Files income tax return with the Internal Revenue Service if annual revenues exceed $25,000.
Secretary
- Records minutes of all UVaClub of Charlottesville meetings and distributes minutes to Board and Regional Engagement Officer
- With the president, communicates information to UVaClub members
- With the president, ensures that contact is maintained with the University
- Sends a copy of all individual UVaClub mailings to Regional Engagement Officer so that the information can be publicized on the website

Membership Chair

- Develops recruitment strategies and oversees annual membership drive
- Identifies and maintains dues structure
- Maintains membership lists and updates Regional Engagement Officer quarterly
- Invites all new arrivals in the area to join the UVaClub of Charlottesville
Community Service Chair (Cavaliers Care)
Jason Chestnutt (CLAS '98)
- Organizes opportunities for members to make an impact in their region
- Sponsors and encourages participation in local service projects
- Coordinates Cavaliers Care projects
- Recognizes volunteers for outstanding service
- Works with schools to recruit local high school students to offer them community service hours through the UVaClub of Charlottesville projects
Schools Committee Chair
David Thomas (LAW '05)
- Coordinates with Regional Engagement Officer and Office of Admission on Schools Committee programming
- Attends and/or recruits volunteers for college nights at local high schools and community colleges
- Serves and/or recruits volunteers for panels at admissions information sessions
- Organizes congratulatory phone calls to accepted students
- Offers guidance and support to local students accepted to U.Va.
- Coordinates student send-off events for accepted and returning students from the region
- Coordinates selection and presentation of the Jefferson Book Award
- Plans networking and career events such as panel discussions and career fairs
- Conducts fundraising efforts to support the endowment for a qualified local student's scholarship to U.Va.

Letitia Green (CAS '84)
- Social and supporting events
- Family and young alumni programs
- Faculty Speaker Series
- Cultural enrichment activities
- Annual signature events (Gala Committee Chair)
- Organizes Grand Gala Dinner and Auction to raise funds to support the endowment of a Jefferson Scholarship to be awarded to a U. Va. student from the Charlottesville area.

Social Events Committee
Open for Committee Members with ideas!
- Organizes recurring events like Happy Hours at Local venue
- Plans parties, barbecues and holiday-themed events
- Coordinates events with alumni from other universities
Sports Events Chair

- Organizes events to watch U.Va. competitions
- Coordinates trips to attend U.Va. competitions both locally and in other regions
Enrichment Chair
Open
- Sponsors book club meetings and discussions
- Organizes speaker events featuring local guest speakers and/or U.Va. faculty and staff
- Plans excursions to local attractions, such as performances, museums, and wine tours
Young Alumni Chairs
Lauren Frick (CLAS '06) and Jennifer McDaniel (CLAS '06)
- Coordinates outreach and programming for alumni who have recently graduated form the University
Signature Events
Open
- Plans and executes the larger annual events of the club that foster club identity and unity, and support the spirit of tradition deeply rooted at U.Va and among the members of the surrounding counties and community, whether friends or alumni, students or applicants, employees or guests
Communications Chair

- Communicates information to UVaClub members
- Responsible for structured flow of information
- Coordinates event publicity
