Get Involved

The UVaClub of Charlottesville invites all friends of U.Va., including, but not limited to, area alumni, to get involved and join us for our upcoming events and programs. We are always looking for interested volunteers and new members. If you are new to town and realize that you would like to be involved in special events that only the UVaClub of Charlottesville offers, please join our local club for a nominal annual fee. You will meet many people in the greater Charlottesville/Albemarle area with whom you have affinity - an appreciation for UVA and its critically important role in the community in which it thrives. The UVaClub of Charlottesville invites ALL in the area to consider joining this important and growing group as a member.

The mission of the UVaClub of Charlottesville is to foster ongoing relationships between The University of Virginia and the local community of friends, alumni and employees of U.Va. through a series of educational, networking, athletic, charitable and social events. Several high-profile programs during the year raise funds to support the Jefferson Scholars Program at U.Va., whose funds go to provide a qualifying central Virginia student the opportunity to receive one of the coveted Jefferson Scholarships. In addition, the club supports the U.Va. Admissions office to encourage local high school students to apply for admission to attend the University as their college of choice. On average, 120 local students enter U.Va. each year, and the UVaClub of Charlottesville sponsors an annual July reception for those area students and their parents, seeking to help support these students early and often.
