The UVA Club of Chicago is a volunteer led group dedicated to engaging alumni, parents and friends of the University.The club is very active and puts on several events throughout the year with a focus on:
- UVA admissions and engagement with current and prospective students.

Exciting news! You are a member of the UVA Club of Chicago!
We are a tax-deductible, donation-based organization and dues are no longer required for membership. As a member, you can participate in all UVA Club activities and meet people in the Chicago area with whom you share a bond – an appreciation for UVA
Join alumni, parents and friends at sporting or speaker events. Meet incoming students at congratulatory and send-off parties. Give back to your community at Cavs Care events.
Your voluntary contributions are appreciated and make all of these events possible. So get involved, have some fun and meet some ‘Hoos!
The Social Committee plans a variety of events throughout the year, including Signature Events, and works with the other ACC Clubs of Chicago to organize joint events.
The Sports Committee coordinates all of the club’s athletic teams: Flag Football, Kickball, and Beach Volleyball. In addition, the committee organizes game-watching events for UVA Football, Basketball, Lacrosse, and Baseball.
The Membership Committee hosts a yearly membership drive, maintains membership records and plans events for current and potential members.
Community Service Committee
The Community Service Committee plans service projects for alumni, in addition to coordinating our annual Cavaliers Care initiative.
‘Hoos Networking Committee
The Networking Committee hosts career and networking events including information sessions, panel discussions and career fairs.
The Schools Committee reaches out to high school students and guidance counselors through college fairs and information sessions, and organizes a phone-a-thon to congratulate newly accepted students.
The Speakers Committee works with both the University and alumni communities to bring distinguished speakers to the club. This includes professor lectures and industry-specific alumni panels.

- Schools Committee
The UVA Club of Chicago works in conjunction with the University in overseeing the college fairs at local high schools. Volunteer alumni representatives staff UVA’s table at the fairs and help answer questions from prospective students and encourage them to apply to the University.

Activities & Events for Admitted Students
Each spring, the UVA Club of Chicago Schools Committee coordinates the congratulatory phone calls to local high school students who have been accepted to the University. The Schools Committee also organizes our annual Student Send-Off Party to for newly-accepted first years in the weeks before they head to Charlottesville. The reception allows incoming first years and their parents to network with each other and current University students so that they build an immediate peer network before they head off to school.
UVA Club of Chicago volunteers helped make congratulatory phone calls to these potential students and encouraged them to attend UVA.
